The UK premiere of the first ever Harley-Davidson® electric motorcycle has been confirmed for this year’s Motorcycle Live at Birmingham’s NEC on 22-30 November.
Project LiveWire™, will provide the centrepiece for stand 3D35 (Hall 3), which will also play host to the full line-up of new machines, including the new Street Glide® Special, new Road Glide® Special and Ultra Limited Low against a backdrop of awe-inspiring Dark Custom™ bikes.
Project LiveWire is just one element in efforts to preserve and renew the freedom to ride for generations to come as we look towards the next 111 years of success.
While not immediately for sale, Project LiveWire is specifically designed for the purposes of gaining insight into rider expectation of an electric motorcycle – and what better way to gain that customer insight than to display it at the biggest motorcycle event of the year and find out what you think to it?
Customer insight will be key to the evolution of the motorcycle, crucial feedback helped us to the design the recent Project RUSHMORE touring models which have been extremely well received, so we’re hoping for the same result here. Project LiveWire is another exciting, customer-led moment in Harley-Davidson history.
This exciting new ride blends the unmistakeable heritage with the latest technology to deliver a new expression of the signature Harley-Davidson look, sound and feel. Project LiveWire is more like the first electric guitar – not an electric car.
In addition to the nod to sustainability and preserving the riding experience, the bike offers a visceral riding experience with tyre-shredding acceleration and an unmistakeable new sound. The sound is a distinct part of the thrill and was designed to differentiate it from other electric motorcycles on the market.
